The service we provide.

The service we provide is confidential, anonymous and most importantly, a 'listening' service.

This means that the callers feel they are 'being heard' without feeling that they are being judged, encouraged to 'do' anything or 'take any action'. By knowing that they are totally anonymous, it gives the caller a feeling of safety that enables them to talk about traumatic events that they might not otherwise wish to recall.

If requested we can also give any relevant information about police and/or any legal process the caller may need to know about, and signpost where necessary. This in turn, will equip the caller with the necessary information to make an informed decision about what they want to do, (if anything) and so will give control back to the caller.

We are a highly specialised service offered at a time when often, there is no other support available and sometimes can be the one thing that can put a person in a place of safety. Triggers of past events can come at different times and for different reasons, and support needs to be immediate.

The fact that we are a free phone service is very important, as many of our callers do not have the resources to pay for calls for the length of time needed. For safety reasons, our phone number does not show up on any landline phone records, although may appear on mobile phones.

We endeavour to offer a reliable and consistent service, however, if you do not get through the first time, please try again.

This is a Devon (county wide) service supported by Lloyd’s TSB Foundation
